Job summary

The Procedural Registered Nurse II at UNC Health Care coordinates and delivers patient care in the Cath Lab, including moderate sedation, hemodynamic monitoring, and intra-aortic balloon pump support. Based at Pardee UNC Health Care, you will work with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality cardiovascular care.

Reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director, you will mentor newer staff, uphold safety standards, and adapt care plans for complex cardiac patients in a fast-paced interventional

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in NC or compact states by first date of care.
• 5 years of cath lab experience as an RN, including circulator and monitoring roles.
• Experience caring for STEMI patients, with or without cardiogenic shock.
• BLS certification required by first date of clinical care.
• ACLS certification required by first date of clinical care.

Responsibilities

• Administers patient care under physician supervision and manages cath lab support.
• Sets up and initiates intra-aortic balloon pump support.
• Presents hemodynamic monitoring and temporary pacing as needed.
• Collaborates with care team to achieve expected patient outcomes.
• Mentors junior nurses to develop skills and confidence.
• Ensures nursing standards, policies, and infection control practices.
• Prioritizes care and coordinates discharge planning with teams.
• Communicates care plans with patients and families using cultural sensitivity.
