Job summary

UNC Health in Raleigh, NC is seeking an experienced Cath Lab RN to join Rex Invasive Heart & Vascular on a per diem basis. The role focuses on imaging, patient assessment, and supporting diagnostic and interventional procedures in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates should have an Associate's degree in a cardiovascular-related field, RCIS/RRT/RDCS or ARRT certification, ACLS and BLS, and at least one year in invasive procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in cardiovascular field required.
• RCIS, RRT, RDCS or ARRT certification required.
• BLS Certification required.
• At least one year experience in invasive procedures or two years relevant healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Documents history and physical assessment for patients undergoing procedures within the cath lab.
• Explains procedures and treatments to patients to gain cooperation and understanding.
• Prepares patient for procedure by positioning and using appropriate equipment.
• Operates diagnostic imaging equipment to produce radiographs of heart and cardiovascular system.
• Monitors cardiovascular and pulmonary functions during cardiac catheterization.
• Observes patient and communicates with physician regarding condition and reactions.
• Assists Physician in diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Provides technical assistance as needed.
• Complies with policies and procedures.
