Midwest Cardiovascular Institute in Elmhurst, IL seeks a Nursing/Administrative leader to oversee the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory's daily operations, staffing, scheduling, patient flow, and resource utilization.

You will provide clinical leadership to nurses, technologists, radiology staff and Cath Lab team members, ensuring safe, efficient, compassionate care and alignment with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field preferred.
  • Current professional clinical license or certification applicable to the discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years Cath Lab or cardiovascular procedural experience.
  • Leadership, supervisory, or management experience in a hospital or cardiovascular setting.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac catheterization procedures and patient safety standards.
  • Ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to participate in on-call/emergency coverage as required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, including staffing, scheduling, patient flow, and resource utilization.
  • Provide clinical leadership and support to nurses, technologists, radiology staff, and other Cath Lab team members.
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.
  • Coordinate staffing and ensure appropriate coverage for scheduled procedures, emergencies, and on-call needs.
  • Monitor department performance, quality metrics, patient outcomes, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain departmental policies, procedures, and clinical standards.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and applicable regulatory, accreditation, infection prevention, and patient-safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with cardiologists, anesthesia providers, nursing leadership, physicians, and other hospital departments.
  • Participate in quality-improvement initiatives and develop action plans when performance or safety concerns are identified.
  • Manage departmental supplies, equipment, inventory, and operational expenses while supporting cost-effective practices.
  • Recruit, onboard, coach, evaluate, and retain Cath Lab staff.
  • Identify educational needs and coordinate orientation, competency validation, continuing education, and professional development.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Respond to urgent and emergent cardiovascular cases as needed and ensure appropriate escalation of clinical concerns.
  • Maintain current knowledge of cardiovascular procedures, technology, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
