Job summary

Zunch Staffing is seeking a highly skilled Cath-Lab Nurse to join our client's healthcare team in Anchorage. The role supports invasive cardiac, vascular, and interventional procedures with emphasis on patient safety and quality care.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years Cath Lab experience, ADN required with Bachelor’s preferred, and current BLS/ACLS certifications. Expect collaborative teamwork, accurate documentation, and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in nursing required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Two to three years of Cath Lab experience. ER/ICU experience is advantageous.
• ACLS and BLS certification (American Red Cross or American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee testing and therapeutics in the Cath Lab (cardiac catheterizations, interventions, EP, endovascular, and structural heart procedures).
• Facilitate communication among departments using SBAR during hand-offs.
• Assist patients during procedures including transport, site prep, monitoring, and post-procedure care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and prepare tests for physician interpretation.
• Provide team orientation and support under pressure.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform and oversee all testing and therapeutics within the Cath lab, including cardiac catheterizations, coronary interventions, EP device and ablation therapies, interventional radiology, neuro diagnostic/interventions, endovascular procedures, and structural heart procedures (e.g., LAAC, TAVR).
• Facilitate effective communication among departmental staff, ensuring an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to patient care. Utilize appropriate SBAR process for hand-off communication.
• Assist patients throughout procedures, managing tasks such as transport, site preparation, sterile procedures, patient monitoring, hemostasis post-catheter/sheath removal, and facilitating the return to the patient's room. Handle emergent cases.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient records. Complete all necessary paperwork associated with procedures and prepare tests for physician interpretation.
• Demonstrate flexibility, organizational skills, and the ability to function well under stressful situations.
• Collaborate with team members and provide orientation as needed.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree in nursing required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Two to three years of Cath Lab experience. Emergency Room/ICU experience is advantageous.
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (ACLS).

Additional Requirements:

• Must have experience – RN and AK lic required.
• 3 years of experience in Cath Lab or 5 years in a high acuity setting (e.g., ICU).
• Experience in circulating, monitoring, and administering sedation medication, including the mixing of sedation drips.
• No mapping experience needed (performed by a third-party company).
