Job summary

Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters in Norfolk is seeking a Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist to perform diagnostic and interventional procedures under the supervision of the physician. The role involves educating patients and families, maintaining diagnostic equipment, and participating in research projects.

The ideal candidate will have completion of an accredited Cardiac Technology program, possess RCIS certification within 6 months of hire, and demonstrate effective communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist (RCIS) required within 6 months of hire.
• CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.
• PALS and ACLS certification required and/or must be obtained within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and interventional procedures under physician supervision.
• Educate patients and families about procedures.
• Maintain quality assurance programs for equipment.

Skills

Knowledge of cardiac invasive and non-invasive testing

Interpersonal skills

Ability to operate imaging equipment

Education

Completion of an accredited Cardiac Technology program
