Requirements include 2+ years RN Cath Lab experience, BSN, NY RN license and BLS. The position involves staffing planning, evaluations, and patient safety with ongoing staff mentoring.

Qualifications

• RN with Cath Lab experience required.
• BSN degree required.
• New York RN licensure and BLS certification.
• Leadership and mentoring skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction in accordance with department goals and policies.
• Participate with Nurse Manager in resolving personnel problems and counsel employees.
• Aid in orientation/mentoring of new staff.
• Assist in performance evaluations for Nursing and Support staff.
• Plan and monitor staffing based on census, acuity and skill mix.
• Administer, plan, initiate and evaluate nursing care.
• Ensure safe patient assignment aligning needs with competencies.
• Delegate tasks while retaining responsibility and accountability.
• Ensure health and safety of patients and employees.
• Prepare staff for emergencies and drills and ensure readiness.
• Own department performance improvement data and activities.
