Job summary

Bon Appétit Management Company in Saint Louis, MO is seeking a Catering Captain for a full-time on-site position at Washington University School of Medicine. The role coordinates catering staff schedules, delivers and serves functions, and supports the Catering Director.

Candidate must have catering supervisory experience; a valid driver’s license may be required. Pay range is $20.00–$22.00 per hour. Details about interview process will be provided during the interview.

Qualifications

• Previous catering supervisory experience is required.
• A valid driver's license may be required; may need food handler or alcohol server permits where required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates catering staff schedules for all functions.
• Prepares and serves food at scheduled functions under Catering Director supervision.
• May drive a truck to deliver food and beverages to events.
• Determine workload requirements from catering orders.
• Meet with function group leaders to discuss setup and changes.
• Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a service-oriented manner.
• Demonstrate understanding of menu items and instruct staff on expectations.
• Set up rooms to desired specifications and deliver supplies as needed.
• Ensure proper presentation, temperatures, and HACCP standards.
• Maintain sanitation and orderliness of equipment and areas.
• Follow approved recipes and production standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
