Job summary

The Jekyll Island Club Resort in Georgia seeks a Catering Conference Service Manager to drive sales for all group bookings and support social and wedding events as directed by the Director of Conferences.

You will maintain service standards, coordinate with banquet teams, anticipate client needs, and ensure flawless event execution in a historic luxury setting with multiple outlets and venues. This role offers a collaborative culture and opportunities to grow within a renowned resort collection.

Responsibilities

• Sell all group bookings and assist with social and wedding events as assigned by the Director of Conferences (DOC).
• Maintain knowledge of departmental policies, service procedures and standards.
• Coordinate with banquet service staff and hotel departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and maintain positive guest and employee relations.
• Monitor cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
• Be familiar with all hotel function spaces, capacities and room settings to enable successful planning.

The JOB

The Catering Conference Service Manager is responsible for the selling of all group bookings along with some social/wedding events when assigned by DOC.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
• Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.
• Anticipate guests needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests.
• Always maintain positive guest and employee relations.
• Familiarization with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquires accurately.
• Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
• Maintain knowledge of:
• 1. Assigned scheduled group functions, times, locations and requirements.
• 2. Location of all hotel function space and function room capacities and name of rooms.
• 3. All styles of meeting and banquet room settings.
• 4. Function room features-lighting, sound system, telephone capabilities, etc.
• 5. Menu Pricing, guarantee policies, payment policies, room rental charges, service charges, shipping and receiving charges.
• 6. Shipping and receiving policies, outside vendor services.
• 7. Banquet service standards.
• General working knowledge of all departments in the hotel to ensure successful planning and implementation of conventions.
• Effectively handle multiple events.
