The Catering Service Manager is responsible for planning, directing, controlling, and executing a wide variety of unique catering events, each managed to meet the aesthetic and economic satisfaction of clients in a dynamic environment. This individual oversees profit and loss for each event, including menu, setting, collateral entertainment, vendor selection, and all other aspects. Catering events include corporate hospitality, private events such as weddings, and more. Maintaining brand integrity and staying abreast of industry trends are crucial.
The Catering Service Manager interacts with clients and vendors regularly, ensuring the success of each event. Responsibilities include site surveys, client service, budget analysis, procurement, safety, menu selection, logistics, negotiation, and event planning.
Operationally savvy with leadership experience in managing people and events. Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills are essential. Ability to work independently and respond to changing demands. Computer literacy and experience in budgeting and sales forecasting are required. A Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years in hospitality management are preferred.
