Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education is seeking a part-time Catering Server at SFU Diamond Alumni Centre. You will deliver and serve food and beverages for scheduled functions, contributing to an excellent guest experience on-site in Burnaby, BC.

Responsibilities include assembling and delivering items to locations, logging temperatures, assisting with prep, arranging buffets, serving plated dinners, maintaining clean displays, and returning equipment. A strong focus on safety and sanitation is required.

Qualifications

• Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent.
• Responsible Beverage Service Certificate where required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in catering or similar environment.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.
• Able to read event orders and organize deliveries for the day.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and deliver all food and supplies for catered functions to their scheduled locations.
• Log and maintain food temperatures.
• Assist with food and table prep before events begin.
• Arrange buffet tables with food, beverage, and service items according to standards.
• Serve plated dinners to guests and respond to requests for beverages and appetizers.
• Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
• Clean location after event and assist with inventory and closeout tasks.
• Return food, beverages, and serving equipment to the catering facility.
• Stock, clean and maintain catering facility and equipment.
• Ensure guests receive friendly, courteous service at all times.
• Maintain knowledge of the complete menu and products on hand.
• Follow safety and sanitation policy and procedures at all times.
