Job summary

Meriwether Godsey is seeking Temporary/On-Call Catering Bartenders to provide guests with the finest drink service for events at Sweet Briar College in Amherst, VA. You must be available for daytime, afternoon/evening shifts, weekdays and weekends.

Typical duties include making and serving beverages, greeting guests, checking IDs, handling cash transactions, and maintaining bar inventory. Competitive pay, meals, and uniforms are provided.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of bartending experience required.
• Familiarity with state and local laws regarding the sale of alcoholic beverages.
• TIPS Certification preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and good organizational skills.
• Flexibility: ability to switch between locations and job duties.
• Ability to carry 30lbs+ and stand for 5–6 hours.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Make and serve mixed alcoholic beverages and additional hot/cold beverages.
• Greet and interact with customers while displaying a positive and friendly attitude.
• Pour, serve draft and bottled beer, and other drinks and beverages.
• Check the identification of customers to ensure that they are of legal drinking age.
• Operate cash registers, collect payments from customers, and return change.
• Maintain bar inventory to ensure a smooth flow of service.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized workstation.

Salary Range: $18.00 To $20.00 Hourly

Meriwether Godsey is seeking Temporary/On-Call Catering Bartenders to provide our guests with the finest drink service, accompanied by attentive, gracious service, for catering events at Sweet Briar College in Amherst, VA.

• Must be available to work daytime, afternoon/evening shifts, weekdays, and weekends.
• $18-$20 per hour (based on experience)

What you will do:

• Make and serve mixed alcoholic beverages and additional hot/cold beverages
• Greet and interact with customers while displaying a positive and friendly attitude
• Pour, serve draft and bottled beer, and other drinks and beverages
• Check the identification of customers to ensure that they are of legal drinking age

• Maintain a clean and sanitized workstation, including, but not limited to, breaking down the bar/beverage area, sweeping and mopping the service area, emptying trash cans, etc.
