Zuppardo’s Family Market in Metairie, LA is seeking a Catering Sandwich Maker to join our fast-paced deli team. You will prep, assemble, and package large catering orders for corporate events, parties, and daily requests.

The role emphasizes precise prep, food safety, and timely delivery, with a focus on teamwork and reliable schedule. Prior food-service experience is preferred, and weekend/holiday shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Previous food service, line cook, or deli experience preferred; on-the-job training is common.
• Strong multi-tasking and time-management skills.
• Ability to stand for long shifts and lift up to 50 lb.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Positive attitude and effective communication with kitchen staff and delivery coordinators.

Responsibilities

• Catering Production: Prep and assemble large orders of sandwiches, box lunches, and platters efficiently.
• Ingredient Prep: Wash, slice, chop, and portion meats, cheeses, breads, and vegetables.
• Packaging & Presentation: Neatly wrap, box, and label catering orders for delivery or pickup.
• Sanitation & Safety: Maintain a clean workspace, sanitize utensils, and follow health codes.
• Inventory Control: Stock stations, monitor ingredient levels, and inform managers of shortages.

The catering sandwich maker works in a fast-paced kitchen or deli environment. They focus on large-scale food production, precise prep work, and timely assembly for corporate events, parties, and daily catering requests

Responsibilities

• Catering Production: Follow recipes and checklists to prep and assemble large orders of sandwiches, box lunches, and platters efficiently.
• Ingredient Prep: Wash, slice, chop, and portion meats, cheeses, breads, and fresh vegetables.
• Packaging & Presentation: Neatly wrap, box, and label catering orders for delivery or pickup.
• Sanitation & Safety: Maintain a clean workspace, sanitize utensils, and follow strict food safety and health codes.
• Inventory Control: Stock stations, monitor ingredient levels, and inform managers of supply shortages

Qualifications

• Experience: Previous food service, line cook, or deli experience is preferred, though entry-level candidates with strong foundational skills are often trained on the job.
