• Previous experience in a sandwich shop, deli, or fast-paced kitchen environment preferred.
• Knowledge of short-order cooking techniques and food safety guidelines.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure, handling multiple orders simultaneously.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, lift and reach and perform repetitive motion.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Prepare sandwiches, wraps, breakfast items, and other short-order menu items based on customer orders and standardized recipes.
• Customer Service: Greet and engage customers, taking orders accurately and addressing dietary preferences or special requests.
• Menu Knowledge: Be familiar with the café’s full menu, including ingredient lists and cooking methods, to assist customers and suggest options.
• Ingredient Management: Maintain organized prep stations and ensure freshness and availability of ingredients throughout the shift.
• Cooking and Assembly: Use grills, fryers, and other cooking equipment to prepare orders efficiently while maintaining portion control and presentation.
• Sanitation and Safety: Adhere to food safety standards, regularly cleaning and sanitizing workstations, equipment, and utensils.
• Inventory Support: Assist in monitoring inventory levels and communicating supply needs to ensure all ingredients are available.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other café and kitchen staff to keep service fast and smooth.
