Job summary

Zuppardo’s Family Market in Metairie, LA is seeking a Catering Sandwich Maker to support our catering program. You will follow recipes, prep large orders, and assemble sandwiches, box lunches, and platters for delivery or pickup.

This role requires a willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays, with the ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lb. Prior food-service experience is preferred, but on-the-job training is available.

Qualifications

• Previous food service, deli, or line cook experience preferred; on-the-job training offered.
• Strong multi-tasking and time-management to handle high-volume catering.
• Ability to stand for long shifts and lift up to 50 lb.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays.
• Teamwork and effective communication with kitchen staff and delivery coordinators.

Responsibilities

• Catering Production: Follow recipes and checklists to prep and assemble large orders of sandwiches, box lunches, and platters efficiently.
• Ingredient Prep: Wash, slice, chop, and portion meats, cheeses, breads, and fresh vegetables.
• Packaging & Presentation: Neatly wrap, box, and label catering orders for delivery or pickup.
• Sanitation & Safety: Maintain a clean workspace, sanitize utensils, and follow strict food safety and health codes.
• Inventory Control: Stock stations, monitor ingredient levels, and inform managers of supply shortages.
