REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF SALES & MARKETING

SALARY: $65,000-$70,000 Annually

Position Summary

A successful Kelber Catering Sales Manager oversees sales, customer relations, and setup for all assigned groups. They must be knowledgeable in all aspects of industry services. They will collaborate with clients to determine their food and beverage selections while consistently identifying and securing upsell opportunities. The Catering Sales Manager partners with all departments to exceed client expectations and ensure repeat bookings.

Job Description and Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  1. Act as the primary contact with clients to coordinate food/beverage needs and logistics.
  2. Negotiate special requests with clients in partnership with the Director of Sales and Marketing to maximize profitability.
  3. Coordinate with operations departments to present menu proposals and price quotes accurately.
  4. Detail and issue information via Banquet Event Orders (BEO), requesting signed documents from clients by the deadline specified in contracts.
  5. Collect required deposits and signed contracts from clients within the contracted timeframe.
  6. Obtain client guarantees within contracted timelines.
  7. Manage assigned events to ensure food and beverage details are properly communicated to clients and the operations team.
  8. Communicate all changes and additions to the operations team promptly.
  9. Prepare billing for clients, track collection of final payments, and follow up on overdue collections.
  10. Supervise assigned events, including those involving other catering sales staff and departments as needed.
  11. Review and enforce all Kelber Catering policies and procedures.
  12. Plan and coordinate food tastings.
  13. Attend staff meetings, MCC Operations meetings, Department Meetings, and any additional meetings as assigned.
  14. Participate in planning meetings for assigned groups.
  15. Generate reports of assigned business for forecasting with an accuracy within +/- 6%, monthly for a rolling forecast.
  16. Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and database management.
  17. Knowledge of sales office procedures, including roles of coordinators and catering administrative assistants.
  18. Operate all relevant software programs such as EBMS, Caterease, Net Viewpoint, and any new programs Kelber Catering adopts.
  19. CPCE or CMP designations are preferred.
  20. Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Director of Sales and Marketing or GM/CEO.
Prerequisites

Availability: Fully available, 7 days a week as needed per schedule.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; college or higher preferred.

Experience: At least two years of management and sales experience in catering, hotel, or convention center settings, preferably high volume.

Physical: Refer to the attached Functional Capacities Evaluation.

Knowledge & Skills: Moderate to advanced knowledge in food, beverage, and service styles; wines; and revenue forecasting.
