ASM Global has an excellent and immediate opening for a full-time, Catering Sales Manager at ASM Global Knoxville. Position Overview: This role involves soliciting, booking, and planning all local one-day Food & Beverage Events and Concessions Only Events. The manager will also coordinate all food, beverage, and logistical components to ensure successful event execution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead in soliciting, booking, and planning local food & beverage events, including weddings, proms, galas, fundraising events, and meetings, as well as concessions-only events like sporting events and public shows.
- Develop proposals for potential clients and follow up on bookings.
- Generate catering contracts and establish payment arrangements in line with finance and venue policies.
- Guide clients through event preparations, explaining contract provisions, policies, and procedures.
- Keep clients updated on deadlines, contracts, deposits, insurance, menus, guarantees, and other event details.
- Detail banquet and concessions event orders, resumes, floor plans, and cost estimates for assigned groups.
- Obtain client signatures on contracts and event documents.
- Distribute all event orders, resumes, and floor plans to relevant departments at least 2-3 weeks prior to events.
- Coordinate activities and schedules with service contractors and vendors.
- Conduct site visits and inspections as needed.
- Plan and organize food, beverage, and logistics details with clients.
- Prepare budgets, monitor expenditures, produce revenue projections, and oversee billing.
- Maintain effective communication with all departments involved.
- Follow up on client requests, concerns, and issues, escalating as necessary.
- Ensure high-quality service and client satisfaction during events.
- Review past events for repeat clients to meet their expectations.
- Develop and maintain a local customer base and report sales leads and client relations to management.
- Participate in local hospitality community and professional associations.
- Attend departmental meetings and serve as Manager on Duty as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent certification in Hospitality, Event Management, Food & Beverage Management, or related field (preferred).
- Knowledge of sales and marketing principles.
- 1-2 years of experience in hospitality, sales, or event services (preferred).

- Maintain PCI Compliance certification.
- ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with VenueOps or similar booking software (a plus).
- Experience with event diagramming software like Social Tables (a plus).
Physical Demands:
Requires moving around the facility, standing for long hours during events, and working indoors or outdoors as needed.
