Job summary

RPM Italian, part of Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants, is seeking a Catering Sales Manager to lead catering and events in our Chicago venue. You’ll develop client lists, write proposals, and collaborate with the GM and Chef to enhance menus and guest experiences.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of catering sales management, strong prospecting skills, and a proven ability to drive sales while managing costs and vendor relationships across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of catering sales management experience.
• Ability to develop Lettuce client list through prospecting and cold calls.
• Experience writing catering proposals, contracts and event orders.
• Ability to schedule catering events in online system.
• Collaborate with GM and Chef on catering menus.
• Manage costs, drive sales and support financial goals.
• Move and lift up to 50 pounds when required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the restaurant’s catering and events to ensure an exceptional guest and employee experience
• Develop and maintain a Lettuce client list using various techniques including but not limited to prospecting and cold calls
• Develop and write catering proposals, contracts and event orders; schedule catering events in online system; respond to client and guest questions; and work toward achieving sales goals
• Attend tastings and meetings, and collaborate with General Manager and Chef to develop catering menus
• Cultivate and maintain a list of preferred vendors
• Assist GM in managing costs, driving sales and growing the business in support of financial goals
• Partner with GM and management team to interview, hire, onboard, train, supervise and develop all catering team employees as needed
• Understand and assist as needed with in-house audio visual equipment as needed
• Model and promote teamwork across all teams
• Use tact and good judgment when dealing with challenges pertaining to guests, vendors and employees, and respond with patience and courtesy
• Work a variety of days and shifts (including early mornings, late nights and weekends) at multiple sites with or without overnight travel, as needed
• Move and lift up to 10 pounds, frequently move and/or lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally move and/or lift up to 50 pounds
• Skilled in developing guest rapport
