Job summary

Montage International in the United States is seeking a Catering Sales Manager to drive new catering accounts and maintain relationships to meet revenue goals. You will coordinate events, oversee contracts, and ensure flawless execution across hotel departments.

The role focuses on negotiating proposals, scheduling site visits, closing contracts, and serving as the client-facing point of contact for events booked.

Qualifications

• Previous Catering Sales experience strongly preferred.
• Luxury hotel experience strongly preferred.
• 3-5 years Hospitality Sales experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Familiarity with food and beverage basics, menu planning and private/group event coordination.
• Ability to effectively communicate with guests, management and co-workers.
• Computer proficiency and ability to work with Delphi, Excel and Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Schedule site visits and assist walk-in clients to ensure a positive impression.
• Sell event and private dining space following policy and procedures.
• Ensure event details are accurate in the sales system.

• Resolve guest concerns with discretion and business acumen.
• Coordinate with services, banquet and culinary teams for smooth operations.
• Achieve sales goals and proactively close business.
• Serve as client-facing contact for events booked.
• Provide quarterly production data to Director of Sales and Marketing.
• Attend weekly meetings and update on business.
• Maintain client communication as definite and on-site liaison.

SUMMARY

The Catering Sales Manager will be responsible for soliciting new catering accounts, including entertaining and maintaining relationships with existing accounts to meet and/or exceed food and beverage revenue goals. They will coordinate and oversee client functions to ensure the experience has exceeded the client’s expectations. The role will monitor all contractual agreements pertaining to meeting space, food and beverage, and special concessions. They will be responsible for effectively communicating with all hotel departments to successfully execute the group’s needs while maintaining an outstanding client relationship.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Major areas of responsibility/ management include, but are not limited to:

• Handle inquiry calls, proposals, negotiations and contracts according to departmental procedures for leads anticipating a guest count of 75 guests or fewer.
• Schedule site visits and provide assistance to any walk-in clients insuring each guest leaves with a positive impression.
• Selling event and private dining space using departmentalpolicy and procedures.
• Ensure eventdetails are accurate and entered into the sales and catering system
• Generate and close event contracts including catering and event space.
• Ability to creatively resolve guests concerns or challenges using business acumenskills and discretion.
• Interact with services, banquet and culinary teams to ensure smooth flow to the client.
• Responsible for achieving sales goals, utilize creative methods to close business.
• Serve as client-facing point of contact for all events booked.
• Provide quarterly production data to Director of Sales and Marketing
• Attend weekly staff meetings and provide update on business.
• To maintain continuity, manage client communication once turned definite and serve as on-site point of contact to liaise with the operations teams.

The pay scale for the Catering Sales Manager is $70,000 to $80,000 / year. This pay scale reflects the base salary and does not include incentive pay such as commissions, piece rates, gratuities, or similar forms of compensation that Montage may reasonably expect to pay for the position.
