Job summary

Catering by Michaels in Morton Grove, IL seeks an experienced Event Coordinator to lead sales and planning for Weddings, corporate events and galas. You will manage client relationships from inquiry through execution, coordinating with culinary, operations, and venue teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of successful off-premise catering sales experience.
• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of relevant hospitality experience.
• Ability to sell and manage events ranging from 10 to 1,000+ guests.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience with Caterease or similar event management software preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Generate new business through inquiries, referrals, networking, and venue relationships.
• Develop proposals, menus, and pricing to meet client objectives.
• Coordinate with culinary, operations, and venues to plan events.
• Attend client meetings, tastings, and venue visits as required.
• Manage accounts and ensure payments are collected in a timely manner.
• Oversee onsite events to ensure flawless execution and client satisfaction.
