IHG Hotels & Resorts at the InterContinental Indianapolis seeks a Catering Sales and Events Manager to drive local catering, galas, nonprofit and wedding-related events in our function spaces and private dining rooms. You will develop sales strategies, manage on-site events, coordinate logistics, build client relationships, and ensure flawless execution from concept to post-event follow-up.

Formación

• College degree with 2–3 years sales or marketing related experience.
• Prior hotel and/or catering experience preferred.
• Must speak fluent English. Other languages preferred.

• Event Sales and Service: developing target base of wedding clientele and event strategies.
• Overseeing all logistical aspects of events, including venues, transportation, AV setup, catering and equipment rentals.
• Client Relationship management: building and maintaining client relationships and ensuring exceptional service.
• On-site event management: supervising staff and ensuring seamless event execution.
• Risk management: identifying risks and developing contingency plans to ensure safety and compliance.
• Post-event evaluation: gathering feedback and implementing improvements for future events.
• Industry knowledge: keeping up with trends and best practices to enhance event quality.

About The Catering Sales And Events Manager Position

The Catering Sales and Events Manager will focus on selling and servicing all local catering, galas, non-for-profit events, social functions and wedding related events in both our function space and restaurant private dining spaces.

A little taste of your day-to-day

• Event Sales and Service: developing target base of wedding clientele, developing and implementing event strategies, including setting goals, objectives, and budgets. Collaborating with stakeholders to determine event themes, formats, and target audience with an emphasis on wedding clients.
• Event logistics: overseeing all logistical aspects of events, including venues selection, accommodation, transportation, audiovisual setup, catering and equipment rentals. Ensuring smooth operations and timely execution.
• Client Relationship management: building and maintaining relationships with clients, understanding their event requirements, and providing exceptional customer service. Collaborating with clients to develop event concepts, themes, and programs.
• On-site event management: overseeing on-site event operations, including staff coordination and troubleshooting. Ensuring seamless and memorable experience for all participants.
• Risk management: identifying and mitigating potential risks and challenges associated with events. Developing contingency plans and ensuring compliance with legal, health, and safety regulations.
• Post-event evaluation and actions: gathering feedback from clients and attendees. Analyzing data, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing changes for future events.
• Industry knowledge and trends: straying update with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in events management. Incorporating innovative ideas and strategies to enhance the quality and impact of events.

Qualifications and Expectations

• College degree with 2-3 years sales or marketing related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Related degree preferred.
• Prior hotel and/or catering experience preferred.
• Must speak fluent English. Other languages preferred.
