Job Summary

The Catering Operations/Event Manager is responsible for the successful execution and coordination of on- and off-premise company events. This role requires excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to multitask on various projects. You will need to communicate effectively internally and with clients and vendors, demonstrating excellent client presentation and marketing skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Consult with clients regarding scope, expectations, setting, menu, entertainment, and budgets to ensure successful events.
• Plan menus in collaboration with clients and chefs.
• Negotiate vendor contracts.
• Delegate tasks and ensure the Event Manager coordinates and executes events within established parameters.
• Recruit, interview, select, and train staff.
• Organize, lead, and motivate the catering team.
• Plan staff and event schedules.
• Maintain accurate financial and administrative records.
• Coordinate between sales, catering managers, chefs, staff, suppliers, vendors, and clients.
• Assess contract requirements and ensure service satisfaction.
• Perform final reviews of catering events to meet quality standards.
• Resolve customer concerns and ensure timely payments.

Qualifications:

• Operational leadership in managing people, events, and guest experiences.
• Strong organizational, time management, and team motivation skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing demands.
• Experience in budgeting, P&L, labor, sales forecasting, and reporting.

• 3-5 years of hospitality management experience, preferably in off-premise catering.
