Job summary

Compass Group USA, a leading foodservice provider, is seeking a Catering Manager at Purdue University in Fort Wayne. You will lead the Catering Department, train staff, oversee event setups, and direct temporary personnel during daily operations to ensure top-notch client service.

In this role you will manage events, collaborate with the Chef on menu development, monitor labor and food costs, and sustain strong client relationships while maintaining high sanitation and service standards.

Qualifications

• 2 years of food service experience including 1 year at the management level.
• Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
• Catering experience is required.
• Knowledge of food and catering trends with focus on quality, production, sanitation, and food cost controls.
• Financial, budgetary, accounting and computational skills.
• Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet.
• ServSafe Certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervises all catering events.
• Involved in catering events operations, including logistics, quality improvement, sanitation, and facility activities.
• Works with the Chef in creating menus.
• Trains catering associates in service techniques, menu presentation, and customer service.
• Tracks and monitors labor and food cost for each event.
• Communicates with management, client, customer and associate levels; maintains excellent client relationships.
• Assists in responsibilities for all foodservice-related activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
