Job summary

Oklahoma State Fair, Inc. is seeking a Catering Manager in Oklahoma City to oversee all aspects of events from setup to teardown and to supervise catering staff in the absence of the director.

The role requires experience in catering/hospitality, a valid liquor license, and strong leadership. Expect evenings, weekends, and holiday hours, with opportunities to manage inventories and coordinate with multiple departments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in a management or supervisory role is preferred.
• Prior experience in catering, hospitality, or fine dining events is required.
• Valid liquor license/ABLE permit and ServSafe certification preferred.
• Ability to manage event-based hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Strong leadership, people management and decision-making under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of an event from setup to teardown.
• Supervise catering staff when the Director is absent.
• Serve alcohol following recipes and policies.
• Verify guest ages and manage alcohol service.
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards.
• Ensure equipment is operable and clean before events.
• Manage weekly and monthly inventories.
• Coordinate with other departments as needed.
• Assist management with training, inventory, and special events.
