Job Summary

As a Catering Manager, you will oversee the Catering Department for a high-volume corporate dining account in Smithfield, RI. Your responsibilities include training new staff, managing event setup and breakdown, and supervising temporary personnel. You will ensure excellent service during events, including proper setup, cleaning, and breakdown procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and supervise all catering events, ensuring smooth execution from setup to breakdown.
2. Manage event logistics, staffing, quality control, and sanitation in coordination with other departments.
3. Collaborate with the Chef to develop and improve catering menus.
4. Train team members on service standards, menu knowledge, and customer engagement.
5. Monitor and control food and labor costs to meet financial targets.
6. Maintain strong communication with clients, team members, and leadership to exceed expectations.
7. Support all foodservice activities as needed and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in catering management.
• Experience in fine dining, hotels, corporate dining, or country clubs preferred.
• Proven track record in catering with focus on quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction.
• Strong knowledge of current food and catering trends, food safety, and cost control practices.
• Solid financial and budgeting skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• ServSafe Certification required.
