Job Summary

As a Catering Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Catering Department of a high-volume corporate dining account in Smithfield, RI. This role includes training new associates, overseeing event set-ups, and directing temporary personnel alongside their daily tasks. You will ensure proper service to clients during events, including setup, cleaning, and breakdown procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise all catering events, ensuring smooth execution from setup to breakdown.
  • Manage event logistics, staffing, quality control, and sanitation in coordination with other departments.
  • Collaborate with the Chef to develop and improve catering menus.
  • Train catering team members on service standards, menu knowledge, and customer engagement.
  • Monitor and control food and labor costs for each event, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients, team members, and leadership to exceed expectations.
  • Support all foodservice-related activities as needed and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a catering management role.
  • Background in fine dining, hotels, corporate dining, or country clubs preferred.
  • Proven catering experience with focus on quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction.
  • Strong knowledge of current food and catering trends, food safety, and cost control practices.
  • Solid financial and budgeting skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • ServSafe Certification required.
