Overview

The Catering Manager position is responsible for selling the resort’s food & beverage catering services. Their primary role is to work with clients interested in hosting weddings, galas, and other social events at the resort. They will interact with Food & Beverage operations, including the culinary and banquets teams, to ensure clients have a memorable experience. They will also help to contribute marketing strategies using local catering knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 2+ years of hotel catering sales experience.
  • Strong negotiation and sales skills and knowledge of contracts.
  • Sound business communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and working knowledge of Delphi/FDC software.
  • Engaging personality conducive to building client relationships.
  • Directs event logistics from pre-event planning through post-event recaps.
  • Manages and assists with event deposits and collections.
  • Knowledge of local business dynamics and competitor analysis.
  • Time management skills, consistently meeting time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of banquet department operations (sets, AV equipment, scheduling, menu planning).
