Job summary

Extend Learning Academies Network (ELAN) is seeking a part-time Catering Manager to lead our central services catering for schools. The role focuses on delivering nutritious, high-quality meals within term-time hours, while maintaining cost-efficient operations and upholding safety standards.

You will work closely with staff, suppliers and the Catering Operations Manager to ensure a welcoming dining experience for pupils and staff, with opportunities to participate in safeguarding and training

Qualifications

• Experience in catering management within schools or education sector.
• Knowledge of nutrition standards and menu planning.
• Strong health and safety practices and DBS suitability.

Responsibilities

• Adapt the trusts menus to school needs, balancing cost and nutrition.
• Ensure food is produced per menu and quantities meet service requirements.
• Identify stock needs and place orders with nominated suppliers.
• Ensure served food meets quality standards and presentation.
• Supervise teams, allocate duties, communicate clearly, motivate staff.
• Attend training sessions and school events when required.
