Job summary

Johnson & Wales University in Providence is seeking an experienced individual to oversee daily back of house operations for campus catering events. You will supervise kitchen setup, prepare and display food, and ensure all health and safety standards are met across events.

Responsibilities include coordinating with cooks and student staff, maintaining sanitation logs, managing inventories and budgets for event food service, and reconciling banquet event orders with the university’s events

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED).
• Experience cooking in a commercial setting or related.
• Food safety manager certification required by conference for food protection.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Ability to work days, evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Oversees BOH operations for campus catering events.
• Supervises kitchen setup and breakdown for events.
• Cooks and prepares food according to recipes and standards.
• Maintains sanitation and food safety logs.
• Manages inventory and budget for event food service.
• Reconciles Banquet Event Orders with the events department.
• Supervises student employees and staff.
