Execute banquet food and beverage events according to banquet event order specifications, adjust specifications as necessary, and perform follow-up to ensure guest satisfaction. This position reports to the Director of Sales – Corporate.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Detail and execute all Banquet Event Orders (BEO) for events.
- Responsible for the sales of all GEMS catering-only events.
- Assist the Sales Team as needed with bookings and preparations for large conventions.
- Coordinate activities of various departments to service accounts.
- Upsell and detail catering social functions, including space requirements, times of events, coordination of outside vendors, and client menu selections.
- Deal effectively with internal and external customers, requiring patience, tact, and diplomacy to resolve conflicts and ensure guest satisfaction. Communicate with hotel sales, reservations, and front office to coordinate and execute client needs. Monitor in-house group activity and assist as needed.
- Assist hotel sales staff in establishing rapport with and entertaining meeting planners while promoting hotel facilities and services.
- Conduct walking site inspections throughout the property with clients.
- Ensure function rooms are set up according to customer satisfaction, with accurate and timely communication with food and beverage, banquets, and audiovisual teams.
- Review functions with customers; adjust specifications as necessary and follow up to confirm all details are correct.
- Ensure timeliness of all details for the BEO and distribute all changes promptly.
- Handle bookings, confirmations, billings, and proposals in Delphi.
- Maintain and communicate event calendars.
- Maintain client confidentiality of all personal information.
- Stay knowledgeable of procedures within the Catering and Food & Beverage Department.
- Manage office administration: answer calls, return client calls within 24 hours, and coordinate in-house meetings.
- Book most events and enforce department policies and procedures.
- Arrange timelines to complete tasks and meet deadlines.
- Participate in projects to help achieve department objectives.
- Evaluate information to provide opinions or take actions impacting the department.
- Focus on achieving department goals and maintaining service quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED required; currently enrolled students must complete GED within 6 months of start date.
- Must be 18 years or older, with proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
- At least 1 year of hotel catering/banquet or relevant experience required.
- Proficiency in Delphi, Delphi Diagrams, and MS Office preferred.
- Strong organizational skills to work under time constraints and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and exercise good judgment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Maintain a professional appearance consistent with Wind Creek values.
- Flexible schedule required.
- Experience in guest service or customer service in a hotel/casino resort preferred.
- Excellent communication skills required.
- Physical ability to access all areas of the property and withstand prolonged standing, bending, and outdoor exposure.
- Ability to lift at least 20 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to work well with others, communicate effectively, and follow directions.
- Positive attitude and friendly manner with guests.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with tact and professionalism.
- Willingness to work odd hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Willingness to travel and participate in training as needed.
- Must have or be able to obtain a license under the Illinois Gaming Act and remain in good standing.
- Willing to work in a smoke environment.
Base Pay:
- Range: $18.45 - $25.03, depending on experience and skills.
