Job summary

US Foods is seeking an Associate Category Manager to drive category performance through detailed analysis of assortment, pricing changes, and forecasting. The role focuses on new product reviews, vendor negotiations, and pricing work for the assigned category within a hybrid environment in Rosemont, IL.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in category management or related fields, strong vendor relations, and solid Excel/PowerPoint skills.

Qualifications

3 years of Category Management or related experience in retail, food service or with a consumer goods company.
Experience in vendor relations, pricing and management of product assortment.
Ability to operate in a matrix environment across multiple groups and levels.
Strong quantitative and analytical skills; able to provide fact-based recommendations to management.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and presentation delivery.

Responsibilities

Analyze category performance including assortment, pricing, promotions, new product introductions, and pricing changes.
Maintain regular reports to track performance and identify impact of variables against metrics.
Identify trends and opportunities to improve category performance and vendor negotiations.
Lead supplier reviews and negotiate promotions for conferences with key vendors.
Review vendor performance reports and provide recommendations to Category Manager.
Collaborate with US Foods regions to align category strategy and resolve escalated issues.
