Family Dollar is seeking a Category Merchant to lead assortment planning, category management, and merchandising strategy for multiple banners and channels. The role emphasizes market and trend analysis and strong collaboration with Global Sourcing to source products and negotiate costs.

You will conduct weekly business reviews, support P&L discussions, and mentor the merchandising team while driving initiatives to improve systems and processes.

Qualifications

• 3 to 6 years’ experience at the Buyer level preferred with a large volume retailer.
• Bachelor's degree (BA/BA/BFA) or equivalent.
• Retail/discount merchandising experience.
• Merchandise planning, assortment planning, and category management experience.
• Market and trend analysis experience.
• Proven vendor management and strong negotiating skills.

Responsabilités

• Develop assortment and drive merchandising strategy for banners/channels/departments.
• Collaborate with Global Sourcing to identify suppliers and negotiate costs.
• Lead category planning, sign off on plan-guides and displays for stores.
• Conduct Weekly Business Reviews and participate in Monthly P&L reviews.
• Mentor and train the Category Team and pursue merchandising improvements.
