Job summary

Batteries Plus is seeking a Merchandise Specialist to manage product categories, support assortment planning, and analyze category performance across merchandising systems. You will collaborate with sourcing, marketing, pricing, supply chain, and vendors to ensure effective assortment strategies.

The role emphasizes data accuracy, lifecycle management, and cross-functional collaboration to drive sales, margin, and inventory productivity in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Merchandising, Marketing, or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in merchandising, category management, buying, or related retail support role.
• Working knowledge of Google Workspace or MS Office; proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets preferred.
• Experience with merchandising systems and analytics tools such as Looker is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities, solve problems, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of category strategies for assigned product categories.
• Analyze sales, margin, inventory productivity, and trends to identify growth opportunities.
• Develop assortment recommendations including new product introductions and discontinuations.
• Partner with the DMM in category reviews and merchandising decision-making.
• Manage new item setup and lifecycle updates in core systems.
• Coordinate with Merchandising and Sourcing to verify vendor product information.
• Ensure accuracy of product details across systems (ProSource, planograms, signage, eCommerce).
• Maintain lifecycle documentation and support assortment decisions for introductions, transitions, and discontinuations.
