What We Need:

We are looking for a Category Manager, IT to join our HNI Workplace Furnishings - Operations team.

The Category Manager, IT Procurement will strategically manage the procurement and sourcing activities for IT with a spend value between $25M and $35M. Your goal will be to select appropriate license models, optimize cost savings, drive supplier performance, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality services to support our company's operations. This role reports to the Director of Indirect Procurement and offers an opportunity to bring transformation, creativity, and innovative thinking to the business.

What You Will Do:

1. Category Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive category strategy for IT aligned with procurement objectives and organizational goals.
2. Cost Optimization: Identify and execute initiatives for cost savings through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, contract negotiations, and process improvements.
3. Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and manage performance to meet or exceed SLAs.
4. Sourcing and Contracting: Lead the sourcing process, including market research, RFP/RFQ management, bid evaluation, and contract finalization.
5. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks by ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, standards, and assessing supplier financial stability.
6. Market Intelligence: Stay updated on market trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies to foster innovation and continuous improvement.
7. Supplier Diversity: Promote diversity by engaging diverse suppliers and supporting inclusion initiatives.

What You Have:

• Bachelor's degree; Master's preferred
• Minimum of 6 years in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management, with a focus on IT
• Expertise in hardware, software, infrastructure, networking, cloud services, and labor negotiations
• Proven experience working with major platform providers such as Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, Infor, Salesforce, Cisco, Palo Alto
• Track record of developing category strategies, cost savings, and supplier management
• Strong knowledge of IT market dynamics and best practices
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision-making ability
• Proficiency in procurement systems, cloud services (PaaS, SaaS, IaaS)
• Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage multiple projects
• Strong business acumen and strategic thinking
• Experience with Oracle ERP and SAP contracts is a plus
• Effective communication skills with attention to detail
• This position is based in Muscatine, IA, or remote with heavy travel up to 70%. Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates.
