Job summary

Google's Procurement Organization in Chicago/Sunnyvale is seeking a Category Manager for Engineering and Technical Operations. You will lead category strategy development, manage strategic supplier relationships, and drive spend optimization using data-driven insights to unlock value for Google.

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Finance, Business, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in multi-disciplined procurement, leading strategy development, execution and sourcing or a related function.
  • Experience managing indirect spend categories, executing sourcing strategies, RFx processes, negotiations, and supplier evaluations.
  • Experience with agreement drafting, review, and management, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Advanced degree or certifications in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional programs across multiple business units or Product Areas (PAs).
  • Experience developing key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure category performance.
  • Ability to lead strategic projects aimed at driving continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Proficiency in leveraging analytical tools (e.g., dashboards, SQL) to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influence skills, communicating effectively across various organizational levels.

As a Category Manager for Engineering and Technical Operations, you will be responsible for pioneering innovative category and sourcing strategies, cultivating strategic supplier relationships, and optimizing spend categories through data-driven insights to unlock value for Google.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

  • US: $111000 - $159000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
