Position Summary:

This role involves leading sourcing strategies for private-label and contract-manufactured chemical products within the construction industry, both in the USA and internationally. Responsibilities include managing suppliers, negotiating agreements, optimizing costs, and ensuring product quality and supply reliability.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage Private-Label Vendors (40%):
    • Develop sourcing strategies with cross-functional teams.
    • Lead negotiations and cost-saving initiatives.
    • Onboard new vendors and ensure compliance.
    • Analyze market trends and supply risks.
  2. Manage Chemical Contract Manufacturers (40%):
    • Coordinate with R&D to select and engage manufacturers.
    • Benchmark and streamline the supply base.
    • Negotiate pricing and explore new manufacturers.
    • Support international formulation implementation.
  3. General Sourcing & Supply Management (20%):
    • Build strategic supplier relationships.
    • Drive cost reductions and report savings.
    • Support product development and operational efficiency.
    • Conduct spend analysis and data-driven decisions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in sourcing, procurement, or category management in chemical manufacturing.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and supplier management skills.
  • Knowledge of chemical formulations and industry regulations.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
Additional Requirements:
  • Travel availability of 25-30%.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, push/pull 25 pounds, and stand/sit as needed.
  • Position can be remote, with required visits to Bethany, CT.
