Shelter Insurance Companies is hiring a Catastrophe Risk Modeler to analyze catastrophe risk and portfolio exposure for direct P&C and domestic/international assumed reinsurance. Qualifications

• Knowledge of catastrophe modeling and exposure management.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills; translate results into insights.
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.
• 1–2 years of catastrophe modeling or related quantitative experience.
• Catastrophe modeling/insurance experience or designations (e.g., CPCU or ARe) preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently within priorities and escalate issues as needed.

Responsibilities

• Model catastrophe risk and portfolio exposure for direct P&C and reinsurance.
• Provide analytics for underwriting, pricing, reinsurance, ERM, reserving, capital, and rating-agency activities.
• Report to the Reinsurance Actuary and Catastrophe Risk Modeler.
