Job summary

Applied Underwriters is seeking a CAT Modeling Analyst based in Omaha, NE to manage catastrophe exposure data and run analyses that quantify natural catastrophe risk. You will cleanse, validate, and prepare data, apply policy conditions, and leverage CAT modeling software to model risk across lines of business.

The role requires 2+ years in property catastrophe modeling, strong analytics, and proficiency with SQL Server, Excel, and scripting tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Analytics, or related field.
• 2+ years of property catastrophe modeling experience in insurance or reinsurance.
• Experience modeling natural catastrophe perils and analyzing model output.
• Insurance/reinsurance experience and understanding of underwriting concepts.
• Proficiency with SQL Server, Excel, and catastrophe modeling software; Verisk Touchstone preferred.
• Excel automation with VBA or scripting.

Responsibilities

• Manage and analyze catastrophe exposure data across lines of business.
• Cleanse, validate, and prepare CAT exposure data for modeling.
• Apply policy conditions and conduct in-depth analysis of client exposure data.
• Model and quantify natural catastrophe risk using catastrophe modeling software.
• Collaborate to incorporate reinsurance structures into modeling and exposure management.
