Job summary

TEK Systems is seeking a Cable Technician for a contract-to-hire role in the Rock Hill/ Fort Mill, SC area. The position involves hands-on installation, termination, and testing of CAT6 structured cabling across commercial environments, with travel between sites as needed.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety on construction sites, and a path to permanent employment based on performance. Experience in telecom/low-voltage trades is a plus, with onsite duties and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to install, pull, terminate, and test CAT6 cabling in commercial environments.
Basic understanding of structured cabling and low-voltage systems.
Ability to support copper cabling installations and assist with fibre optic work.
Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working at height on ladders/scissor lifts.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; commute up to an hour between sites.
Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems with a focus on CAT6.
Support copper and fibre optic cabling installations across commercial sites.
Perform IDF and MDF closet builds including rack and stack activities.
Travel between job sites up to an hour apart; collaborate with lead technicians.
Maintain organized work areas and accurately label cabling.
