Job summary

Norton Healthcare in Kentucky is seeking a CAT Scanner Technologist to perform CT imaging with high-quality results. This WOW position includes weekend nights and days with premium pay and shift differential, and cross-training opportunities across modalities.

You will prepare patients, position and perform scans, follow safety and infection control standards, and may supervise students while maintaining patient communication and education.

Qualifications

• State Radiography License is required and ARRT(CT) or NMTCB(CT) certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Produce and retain high-quality diagnostic images meeting department, organizational and industry standards.
• Prepare patients for the procedure and educate or respond to questions.
• Ensure age-appropriate communication, safety, and infection control.
• Oversee and train students as part of their training.

Responsibilities

This is a WOW (Work on Weekends) position. Schedules for WOW employees include every weekend (Nights - Friday & Saturday, Days - Saturday & Sunday). Employees in designated WOW positions earn premium pay in addition to their competitive hourly rates and shift differential.

The CAT Scanner Technologist utilizes imaging, computer and other equipment as appropriate to produce and retain high quality diagnostic images which meet or exceed department, organizational and industry standards. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the human anatomy, physiology, as well as image quality. Applying professional knowledge, prepares patients for the procedure, educates and responds to questions or concerns. Ensures age appropriate approach to communication, safety needs, patient education and principles of physical/functional growth and development. Demonstrates an understanding of patient positioning, imaging technique, radiation safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques. Oversees and trains students providing patient care, treatment and services as part of their training.
