Job Overview

Under the direction of the radiologist and the supervision of the manager or supervisor, the CT technologist performs procedures to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. Technologists are responsible for the performance of high‑quality diagnostic images utilizing proper techniques with established protocols. The role includes patient positioning, contrast injections, IV access, interventional biopsies, 3‑D reconstruction, new protocols, orienting new staff, troubleshooting equipment, maintaining accurate records, assisting in student education, and ensuring infection prevention.

Job Responsibilities

• Demonstrate competency through ongoing CBE’s.
• Demonstrate knowledge of equipment and operating procedures through CBE’s.
• Select proper imaging protocols and parameters based on clinical history and departmental procedures.
• Maintain cooperative relationship with interdepartmental team members.
• Consistently produce and evaluate CTs for diagnostic interpretation.
• Maintain accurate records through completion of paperwork.
• Provide patient, family, and staff comfort and care before, during, and after procedure.
• Recognize and respond appropriately to emergent situations.
