Job summary

Southern TN Regional Health System - Pulaski is seeking a Cat Scan Technician to perform CT imaging, review orders, educate patients, and ensure high-quality results. You will work under the direction of Radiology leadership and maintain safety and accuracy in every examination.

The role requires a Tennessee Radiation Operator Certificate, ARRT credentials in Radiology and CT, and BLS. Join a network focused on delivering exceptional patient care across communities.

Qualifications

  • Two-year certificate, Associate's degree, or Baccalaureate degree in a relevant field.
  • Current Radiation Operator Certificate in Tennessee.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiology and Computed Tomography.
  • BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides computed tomography (CT) imaging in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice when ordered.
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports or responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies.
  • Implements safety standards and performs quality control on equipment.
  • Troubleshoots, resolves, and reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedures.
  • Analyzes results and identifies issues with image quality.
  • Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning and repeating procedures.
  • Enters, transmits and reports scan results.

How you'll contribute

Cat Scan Technician who excels in this role:

  • Provides computed tomography (CT) imaging in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Reports to the Director of Radiology and/or Supervisor
  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
  • When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies.

What we're looking for

Education: Two-year certificate, Associate's degree, or Baccalaureate degree.
