Qualifications

  • One year of DMS experience preferred for ARRTs.
  • Current Radiation Operator Certificate in North Carolina.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiology.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provides computed tomography imaging per standards of practice.
  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
  • Educates patients about the procedures and exams.
  • Monitors patient condition and reports changes.
  • Implements safety standards and performs quality control.

Overview

Wilson Medical Center is part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network. As a Cat Scan (CT) Technician, you’ll provide essential imaging services while prioritizing patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides computed tomography imaging in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
  • Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice when ordered.
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies.
  • Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
  • Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedures.
  • Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
  • Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
  • Enters, transmits and reports scan results.

Requirements
  • Education: Two (2)-year certificate, associate degree, and/or baccalaureate degree.
  • Minimum Work Experience: One year of DMS experience preferred for ARRTs.
  • Licenses: Current Radiation Operator Certificate in the state of North Carolina; Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiology.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • On‑Call Availability: Must accept on‑call assignments for regularly scheduled shifts and be available to report to facility within 30 minutes of notification.
  • Skills and Abilities: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, composure in stressful environments, appropriate action in emergencies.
