Job summary

St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center in New York seeks a CT technologist to perform MDCT studies, position and prepare patients, acquire high-quality images, and contribute to accurate diagnostics while adhering to safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate holds a NY radiographer license, ARRT registration, and BLS certification; you will work with the radiology team to optimize protocols, document QA, and support patient care from exam to report.

Qualifications

• NY radiographer license or eligibility.

• Completion of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program.
• Knowledge and working experience in CT required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret physician orders to determine radiography type.
• Position and instruct patients during procedures.
• Administer non-injectable contrast material and monitor for reactions.
• Operate stationary and portable CT equipment and review images.
• Perform MDCT procedures with independent judgment.
• Produce and evaluate CT images for technical quality.
• Log daily QA activities and document contrast delivery.
• Adhere to hospital policies and regulatory requirements.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for interpreting the doctor's orders as to the type of radiography or treatment for the patient
• Positions and instructs patients on procedures being performed
• Administer non-injectable contrast material for routine radiographs and observe for reaction
• Operate stationary and mobile x-ray equipment; process and review radiographs for quality and perform other duties as assigned.
• Performs a variety of clinical and research MDCT procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and imitative.
• The technologists will produce and evaluate CT images for technical quality, properly identifies images and patient and effectively uses judgment for protocols and procedures.
• Perform and log daily QA
• Medication oversight which includes documentation of delivery of contrast media.
• Adheres to St. Francis hospital and departmental policies and procedures and JCAHO/regulatory agency requirements.

Requirements:

• NYS radiographer's license
• Registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technology
• BLS required
• Completion of Radiologic Technology training in an AMA approved school
• Knowledge and working experience in Computerized Tomography required.

Salary Range

USD $54.51 - USD $67.48 /Hr.
