Job summary

Westchester Medical Center Health Network in New York seeks a Cat Scan Specialist to consult with Radiologists and perform daily quality control on CT equipment, ensuring safe, accurate imaging for patients of all types.

You will collaborate with imaging staff, assist in patient positioning, document procedures, and maintain compliance with federal and state standards. On-call and training responsibilities may be required as part of routine Imaging Services operations.

Qualifications

• One year of progressive technical experience in Diagnostic Radiology required.
• Three months training in Cat scan procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs quality control procedures at designated intervals on imaging and ancillary equipment.
• Operates imaging equipment to perform high-quality procedures safely and efficiently.
• Reviews patient history and communicates pertinent information to radiologists.
• Assists in patient transfer to imaging tables and positions patient according to protocol.
• Performs preceptor responsibilities for new hires and educates staff and students as needed.
• Adheres to patient identification protocols and maintains sterile technique.
• Tracks studies in PACS/Radiologist workflow and maintains documentation according to policies.
