Job summary

CAT Scale Company is hiring hard-working concrete construction laborers to travel across the United States to maintain and repair our CAT Scales at 2,300+ locations. This full-time, on-site role offers a year-round paycheck and a comprehensive benefits package, with travel and per diem to support long assignments.

You will perform concrete work, scale deck repairs, trenching, equipment maintenance, and collaboration with diverse teams while traveling 2–3 weeks blocks.

Qualifications

• Concrete experience or construction background.
• Excellent communication skills with diverse teams.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and within a team.
• Must be able to lift 50–75 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Willing to travel up to 75% or 2–3 weeks at a time across the U.S. and Canada.
• Must live within two hours of Walcott, IA, and be able to obtain a Passport.

Responsibilities

• Perform concrete work and repairs; scale deck repairs; trenching for conduit.
• Maintain CAT Scale equipment and related structures.
• Collaborate with crew, foremen, subcontractors, and customers.
• Travel 2–3 weeks at a time, working 7 days a week, across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Work with diverse individuals, including crew members, foremen, maintenance crews, subcontractors, and customers.
• Concrete work and repair
• Scale deck repair
• Trenching for conduit
• Using a variety of tools
• Maintain CAT Scale equipment.
• Travel 2-3 weeks at a time, working 7 days a week

Requirements

• A construction background and/or concrete experience
• Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all types of people
• Able to work successfully under limited supervision AND in a team-based setting
• You must be accountable for your actions, be detail-oriented, and take the initiative to complete projects promptly.
• Possesses the ability to lift and move 50-75 pounds regularly and must be able to stand, kneel, and bend over long periods.
• Work outside during all types of weather.
• Ability to travel up to 75% of the time, or 2-3 weeks at a time, throughout the United States and Canada.
• Must have the ability to obtain a Passport.
• Ensure all safety guidelines and organizational best practices are always followed.
• Employees MUST live within two hours from CAT Scale Headquarters in Walcott, Iowa.

License

• Valid Class A CDL with good driving record (preferred) or ability to obtain one in the first 3 months of employment.
