Job summary

Ziegler CAT is seeking an Ag/Construction Technician to diagnose and repair Caterpillar heavy equipment at our Sioux City branch. The role emphasizes excellent troubleshooting, timely diagnostics, and a strong work ethic in a full-time, benefits-eligible position.

Qualified candidates have a diesel tech background, 2+ years AG equipment repair experience, and own tools; pre-employment drug testing applies. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits accompany the opportunity.

Qualifications

2-year technical college degree in diesel technology or related field; or High school diploma/GED and 2 years of comparable shop mechanic experience.
2+ years of relevant ag diesel engine/equipment repair experience is preferred.
Working knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, undercarriage, track systems, components, electrical, and fuel systems; working on Caterpillar is a plus but not required.
Working knowledge of repairing a variety of agricultural equipment; ag technology experience is a definite plus.
Own mechanic tool set and ability to document work orders clearly.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair Caterpillar equipment across heavy construction and agricultural lines.
Document work orders in a complete and timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
Work safely at all times, following company policies and standards.
Collaborate with other technicians and assist as needed with troubleshooting repairs.
Participate in ongoing training to enhance mechanical skills and product knowledge.
