Job summary

Good Shepherd Humane Society is seeking a Feline Animal Care Technician to care for cats in the shelter, maintain a clean environment, and support adoption and visitor experiences. The role involves daily feeding, monitoring health, enrichment, and basic handling under SOPs.

Qualifications

• Ability to safely handle cats of varying temperaments.
• Professional communication with coworkers and the public.
• Ability to follow written protocols, schedules and safety procedures.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn shelter software.
• Preferred: experience in animal care or shelter work.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for shelter cats including feeding, monitoring, and enrichment.
• Observe health changes and report to management.
• Safely handle cats and assist with occasional dog handling.
• Clean kennels, cages, litter boxes, and work areas.
• Provide courteous information to the public and assist with adoptions.
• Enter and update notes in shelter management software.
