Job summary

Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Student Animal Care Assistant (Cats) to provide daily care, cleanliness, and upkeep for laboratory animals in a laboratory or hospital setting.

The position requires availability to work nights, weekends and holidays, along with the ability to follow simple, routine instructions and perform basic physical tasks, including lifting up to 50–100 pounds when needed.

• Enrolled student at Auburn University

Responsibilities

• Ensures animal cages and/or containment rooms are kept clean and orderly.
• Launders, stores and distributes linens and scrubs required for animal care.
• Restocks supplies needed for meeting animal needs and cleaning rooms.
• May perform a variety of animal care duties such as feeding, watering, applying shredded paper to cages and updating health records.
