Job summary

Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Student Animal Care Assistant (Cats) to provide daily care, cleanliness, and upkeep for laboratory animals in a laboratory or hospital setting.

The position requires availability to work nights, weekends and holidays, along with the ability to follow simple, routine instructions and perform basic physical tasks, including lifting up to 50–100 pounds when needed.

• Must be able to follow detailed, simple, routine instructions and procedures.
• Duties require basic physical and mental skills and abilities, including use of simple hand tools, power tools or other equipment and use of basic math or reading skills.
• Job frequently requires standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Job occasionally requires sitting, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to 100 pounds.
