Job summary

Auburn University Libraries is seeking a Student Assistant in the Cary Veterinary Medical Unit. The position supports faculty, staff, and students by assisting with daily operations and providing general support as needed.

Student assistants may work up to 20 hours per week, depending on operational needs, with a regular schedule of Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (6 hours per week).

Qualifications

• Enrolled student at Auburn University.
• Must provide detailed availability for each day of the week within library operating hours.
• All application questions must be completed.

Responsibilities

• Check library materials in and out for patrons.
• Reshelve returned items and maintain shelf order.
• Assist patrons in locating materials and using library resources.
• Provide customer service at the service desk, including answering questions.
• Answer and direct phone calls.
• Open and/or close the Veterinary Medicine Branch Library.
• Scan articles and materials for interlibrary lending.
• Sort and organize books and other library materials.
• Perform shelf reading to ensure materials are in proper order.
